Keratin extraction method

We have developed efficient un sustainable keratin extraction technology using such farming by-products as sheep wool and chicken feathers. We aim to produce and supply keratin to cosmetics and medical product manufacturers.

Benefits of our technology

We continue to develop and improve the method to increase its yield while reducing the amount of reagents needed. We also continue performing tests on keratin to assess its properties.

Up to 70% extraction

Based on green chemistry principles, less harmful than existing technologies

Low CAPEX for starting production and OPEX for maintenance

Supports circular economy principles, minimizes waste

Problems being solved with our technology

Low-quality sheep wool and bird feathers are currently by-products (even waste) of livestock farming, which can be used as keratin production source that is widely used in rapidly growing (>6%) cosmetics and medicine product industry.

Currently available methods for the extraction of keratin use reagents that are harmful to the environment and humans, require expensive and specific equipment, or have very low extraction yields (below 40%).
